PRP is a safe, non-surgical way to reduce shedding, stimulate hair growth, and promote fuller, healthier hair by using your own plasma, which is full of platelets and growth factors.
This treatment is perfect for those who notice thinning at their hairline or a widening where they part their hair. However, PRP only works if there is hair present, so starting early when you notice thinning is essential.
Most women lose their hair in large quantities a few months after giving birth, and sometimes, the hair doesn’t grow back as full or strong. PRP is a great way to stimulate hair growth and reduce shedding so you can feel like yourself again.
Androgenic Alopecia, or male/female pattern balding, is the typical hair loss associated with aging (and family genetics). PRP is commonly started once someone notices their hair is getting finer and thinner.

Around the 3rd treatment (or after month 3), you may start to notice a reduction in shedding and an increase in volume. At the follow-up (or at month 6), you’ll see a visible difference in fullness and hair strength.
We recommend three treatments spaced 4 weeks apart to kick off the process, then at 3 months after your last session. At this time, you’ll discuss with your provider a maintenance cadence that works best for your hair, typically 2-3 times per year.
● Avoid aspirin 10 days before treatment. If you are taking aspirin prescribed by your provider, confirm with them if you can stop taking it.
● Avoid alcohol or any blood thinners for 24 hours before treatment, as it can make the skin more susceptible to bruising.
● Plan your social calendar – Your scalp may feel tender, and bruised in the areas where you were injected.
● Don’t plan to dye your hair within 3 days after treatment.
● Wash your hair on the day of your appointment.
● You may bring a clean hat to wear after treatment..
● Step 1: Consultation & Blood Draw
After a full consultation to ensure you are a proper candidate, your blood will be drawn in a vial and spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the other components.
● Step 2: Treatment
The treatment area is cleansed, and injections are performed, taking about 15 minutes.
● Step 3: Post-care
Once complete, the area will be cleaned, and aftercare will be discussed. You’ll be shown a mirror to see your appearance walking out of the office, which may include small bumps, swelling, redness, or bruising.
● You can use ice or take Tylenol after the treatment, if desired, for comfort.
● To avoid swelling and discomfort, avoid activities that increase heart rate, such as exercise or extreme heat (hot tubs, saunas), for 48 hours after treatment.
● You may take a warm shower that day.
